Wow! I guess this makes it a full deck. Anyway... it was another fine set and I'm pretty pleased with the ground I got to cover. It's always awesome to see some new facesa and this performance had a couple of those. I hope they felt welcome and drawn in for more! There were a few fun requests too! There were several highlights for me: 1st Was debuting a couple of songs that, to be honest, were overdue being added to the repertoire. 2nd The biggest highlight for me was debuting a new guitar. She was a loan that has been turned into a gift and that gift recieved a modification that gave it a rare (and some say dangerous) superpower- a 12 string with a whammy bar (aka tremelo aka vibrato tailpiece). Conventional wisdom is that one seriously risks destabilising the tuning/ pitch doing that. But mad scientist that I am, I did it anyway and it worked! I've always wanted this on certain songs and now I finally have one! The new guitar is named Agatha and I played a short set of songs featuring the whammy bar superpower. That was my first electric 12 string set of the evening. The other set was on Lirazel as usual. 3rd I don't usually just call out and brag about individual songs in the setlist, but I have to gush just a little bit about my performance of "Little Wing". I was riding a wave of bliss, hitting every point I try to hit when I play that song. I had to work to keep myself on this plane as I did. This is what I envisioed when I set out to learn how to play music- moments like these. Sigh. And to cap it off, I have to wryly note that I played three different guitars at this show- all of them 12 Strings. Yeah, I spent a lot of time tuning.
